which one?

so im getting mixed answers, so where better to get a definite answer than on an ohv site....

yamaha raptor 700...... king of quads. has reverse and power to spare, higher top speed, can climb anything you throw at it

yamaha 450R......... wider stance, quicker off the line, better for jumping, more stable

the both are about the same price and they both do what i want. i am a speed demon, but like to jump as well. the 700 is only 25-30lbs heavier than the 450R so that is not a valid point. i did work for the owner of the dealership so i am getting either one at below invoice pricing with no setup fees.

so, which one do i get? and why? besides the facts stated above whats the reason for the choice?

I was looking into those as well before I bought the outlaw. Wanted the IRS.

but the 700 is a beast. that would be the one I go for.

damn it....... you are no help.... haha. my nephews say 450. the guys at the dealership are split too....

the 700 would probably respond to mods like intake, exhaust, etc. better than the 450. plus, raptors just look so badass.

450 will want to be run hard all the time, where the 700 will have power everywhere, not just higher RPM's torquey bugger.

this is just from what i've read, have never ridden them both back to back. and never ridden a yfz 450 at all. spent a few minutes on the raptor though.

stock for stock they will be close to the same speeds, but modded, the raptor will kill the 450.
