Is to own a side x side and start taking that to the dunes as I sold my predator. I think it would be alot more fun really. What do you all like better?

Thats my plan. I think I will have alot more fun with them then a atv. When I go to the dunes, I can see me doing so much more on it then my old atv.

What kind of sxs you thinking about? My father in law is wanting to trade in his Rhino. He is thinking about a Can-Am Commander 1000 or Razr S.

I really haven't looked yet. I was a big fan of the artic cats a year or so ago, but that may have changed with the newer styles coming out.

We have one up at the farm, technically it belongs to one of the two other guys I own the property with, but it's kinda community property...

We have a ranger but you'll want a rzr our commander for the dunes.
My buddy has a rzr s, it's pretty wicked

ramhunter9

I love the rzr

After sitting in them the other day, I gotta say for a tall guy, the Commander is the better machine. I just felt more comfortable sitting in it. I'm 6'5 though so if you're a little bit shorter it probably wouldn't be an issue either way.

go for it!

i got a '11 Polaris RZR S-LE and i love it.

i actually just ordered a lift for it this week and i will be ordering a dual rate spring kit for my fox shocks very soon. gonna rip the suspension apart this winter and turn into a bigger beast!

That thing looks badass Nick.

thanks bro. yeah thats one of the other things besides the raptor that takes all my money. that and my wife...lol

12-06-2012, 11:03 PM
rzr is the king!

aarons419
12-07-2012, 12:08 AM
The new wildcats look pretty mean too. I know nothing about them though.

SBA800
12-07-2012, 12:53 AM
heh.
id stay away from em for a year or two.

cats lately have a terrible reputation for first ear/second year products.

you should see how long the list of recalls is for their 2012 snowmobiles.

aarons419
12-07-2012, 07:02 AM
Ouch...good to know. I'm not really interested in getting a SxS anyway, so I'm not too worried about it. It would be cool because they're street legal here in AZ so that'd make it double the fun, but the only way I would have bought one is if i hadn't bought my Raptor.

nosbusa
12-07-2012, 11:34 AM
give me your truck, and then that way you can buy it

NickPic83
12-07-2012, 09:22 PM
i would stay clear of the wildcat prowler(sxs) had tons of issues, bad fires and all. the wildcat just came out so its got some bugs to work out. it does have better suspension than the rzr but it is much slower.

aarons419
12-08-2012, 12:40 AM
If the suspension is a lot better than the competition the slower motor might not be a huge hindrance, at least not in the rough stuff. It'd be a drag everywhere else though.

SBA800
12-08-2012, 11:09 AM
the wildcat is just to big imo. would be good for dunes, but would be a shortfall everywhere else

aarons419
12-08-2012, 04:00 PM
Yeah just from looking at it, it's a desert beast. It's not going to be happy on narrow trails or anything like that, but it looks like it'd flat out rip some big desert whoops and jumps.

SBA800
12-08-2012, 05:07 PM
yup. would be a blast in the dunes... till it breaks.

aarons419
12-08-2012, 06:11 PM
There's always that. I'd be seriously pissed spending that much just to have it break.

SBA800
12-08-2012, 06:18 PM
ha yea, thats what warranty is for though, right.

im gonna be pissed if my sled shits the bed.
warranty is over soon. and i dont even have 100 miles on it.

kinda of a shit situation.

aarons419
12-08-2012, 09:07 PM
Yeah no kidding, you've hardly given it a good shakedown and the warranty is ending. That does suck.

NickPic83
12-09-2012, 12:04 AM
If the suspension is a lot better than the competition the slower motor might not be a huge hindrance, at least not in the rough stuff. It'd be a drag everywhere else though.

there are videos of it trying to go up dune hills. the rzr goes up it and the artic cat has to turn around. it just cant power up it. there are a few vids like that. still worried about the QC too

aarons419
12-09-2012, 09:26 AM
That would make me a sad panda....

aarons419
01-07-2013, 09:13 PM
All I'm saying is for damn near $20k the thing better be able to climb just about any hill I point it at.

nosbusa
01-08-2013, 03:53 AM
yeah, right.....

aarons419
01-08-2013, 09:17 AM
I'm just saying that's a lot of money, if it underperformed I'd be pretty bummed out.

SBA800
01-09-2013, 02:10 PM
they really are way overpriced.
they do look fun, but i mean cmon, you can buy an old jeep, or a samurai for dirt cheap, throw a lift on, and swap in a powerhouse for less than a side by side... not to mention the comforts of a legit vehicle. stronger 4wd system etc.

aarons419
01-09-2013, 08:04 PM
Hell with that, buy an old F150 with the TTB with a V8, slap on a long travel kit and completely destroy a UTV.

NickPic83
01-09-2013, 08:31 PM
yeah all these trucks and jeeps work great if u ride in the dunes or ride in very wide trails...utv's come in 50" to keep them trail legal where atv's ride(50" restrictions), then there are larger widths too widths depend on what make and model u have. if u wanna ride woods trail systems trucks will not fly. also i use my utv for work around the propety.
