Tip of the day
If you have any usefull tips or tricks, post them up.
I will start off with a simple one. For those with a winch, pick up an axle strap used for attaching around the axle of a vehicle when chaining it down for towing. Automotive places should have them but I think I got mine at Tractor Supply for $7 or $8. I keep it attached to the hook and wrapped around the brush guard which is very convenient. When you get stuck it is great for attaching to another quad or small tree without damaging them or tearing up your cable or rope hooking it to itself. Here is what I am talking about. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...8/IMG_2041.jpg |
I may be misunderstanding, but most of mine have came with a tether strap attached to the hook for just this reason.

The vast majority of quads I see on the trail have nothing and just wrap the cable around whatever they are pulling against and attach the hook back to the cable.
Btw, if you leave it attached like the pic above, this also makes the cable easier to get to when you are rack deep and the hook is buried in the mud. |
good idea for those who don't already have a way to attach it to keep it from hanging low. I'll suggest this to my brother for his quad!
