Honda Rancher engine problems
 

So i have a 2001 Honda rancher 350ES and it was acting pretty weird when i rode it this last weekend. We've had it in the shop a couple months back for a clutch problem and i don't know if its related. Anyway, I rode for awhile and noticed a burning oil smell, i noticed theres what looks like oil all over the top of the motor and when it runs it sounds like it ticks and rattles. Maybe something internal is busted? Any ideas before i send her back to the shop?
